Replacing PDFs

Wanted: high resolution screen (1080p+) tablet with pressure-sensitive stylus input with native PDF reader/editor.

I’ve been dreaming about this for the longest time, and we’re so close, so tantalizingly close–we have the technology; we can make it better, stronger, faster.

I’m so tired of printing out PDFs and papers because nothing comes close to being able to annotate by hand yet.  But I’ve seen tablets out there that have the resolution to avoid eyestrain, tablets that have stylus input, and other tablets that have PDF annotating software, but nothing that combines all three capabilities well enough to replace paper yet.  The closest that comes to it is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, but it falls short in many other respects.

I’ve been dreaming of this device ever since I read Sellen & Harper’s Myth of the Paperless Office a decade ago, but even with all the technological advancements, we’re still not there.

Someday.
